Common Online Etiquette
With the dawn of many online games in the gambling community, it was only natural that a means of communications be set up between players to discuss their game. In the olden days prior to the internet, gamblers usually got together in coffee shops and talked about anything under the sun. It normally involves some planning for not everyone could gather right away on short notice. All of that has changed now that the world wide web has become more accessible to the people.
When ever players engage in a chatroom there are always rules that one has to follow to maintain the standards of the website. In other gaming websites, members and non-members are allowed to chat about anything under the sun. In other websites, only members could access the chat facility. Engaging is chat rooms depends on the permissions give by the website. Some are limited while some provide a free for all chat fest.
Chatrooms are watched over by CM or chat moderators or Mods for short. These mods have the power and authority to allow new and regular members in to the chat zone as well as remove rude and unwelcome players. The ruling of the CM is usually final and should be respected. At any given time there many be two or more CM monitoring the site and keeping the area with clean fun.
Respect for authority is the number one rule in the chatroom. One must know who calls the shots in the chatroom and who are just members. It doesn't matter what status the member is but the moment that they start turning rude, the CM intervenes and metes out a suitable punishment but of course would issue out warning before doing so.
Not only should players respect the Mods but also their fellow players as well. The online chatroom actually plays host to a lot of members and they are also from different countries and my have different view on certain issues.
Players that are in the chatroom should watch their manners and not get upset easily when other members do not answer at once. It could be that their connection is breaking up or the software maybe undergoing some systems error. Another is that the operation may not be online when asked the question and may only be able to answer when they logged in.
Chatting is an excellent way to get to know ones fellow players but in case like in real life introductions, there should be a certain amount of etiquette to be followed.
